A typical therapy session lasts approximately one hour.
During each session, your therapist will work directly with your child through play-based activities, hands-on treatment, strengthening, stretching, positioning, milestone practice, and parent education.

Therapy frequency depends on your child’s individual needs, diagnosis, age, goals, and progress.
After the initial evaluation, we will work with you to establish the best treatment plan for your child. Some children may benefit from weekly therapy, while others may need a different schedule based on their progress and goals.

During the first visit, your therapist will get to know your child and family, discuss your concerns, review your child’s medical and developmental history, and assess your child’s movement, strength, posture, range of motion, head shape if appropriate, and gross motor skills.
Your therapist will then create an individualized treatment plan and provide parent education and home activities to support progress between sessions.

Yes. Parent education and home activities are an important part of pediatric physical therapy.
Your therapist will provide practical exercises and strategies that fit into your daily routine, such as tummy time, positioning, stretching, strengthening, carrying, feeding positions, and developmental play activities.
